Lucie Bardos, BA, MSc

Over the past 15 years, Lucie has lived, studied, and worked, in 5 different countries and across 5 different languages. In 2010 she earned her BA from the University of British Columbia, focusing on Romance cultures and languages, and in 2015 she earned her MSc in Critical Sustainability Studies (Human Ecology) from Lund University, Sweden. She currently resides on unceded Syilx Okanagan Nation Territories in Kelowna, BC, Canada.

Lucie has had an exciting and diverse career path, ranging from language teaching and translation, to project development & management, writing, visual arts, and sustainability education.

Creative projects are now her primary focus when working with clients. This includes, but is not limited to: custom artwork commissions, workshop facilitation, and educational program content/curriculum development. Focal themes in her work are sustainability, ecological design, social issues, and community development.

Some of her current ongoing projects include supporting various non-profit initiatives (e.g. Rhizome Eco-Social Education Society), as well as mentoring students as a faculty member of the Permaculture Women’s Guild. Lucie has also been a contributor to Permaculture Women Magazine and Degrowth.info, and has written about topics such as exploring power and privilege in the sustainability movement, alternative economics, decolonizing permaculture, and even the benefits of planting calendula!

Beyond the office, Lucie loves to paint her heart out, get her hands dirty working in the garden, and cudde her two cats: Noodle and Selena.

Lucie is comfortable working across diverse computer-based platforms, including both Microsoft and Apple-based programs. She also has a penchant for databases and programs like Notion or Airtable. Artwork Commissions

Lucie often enjoys taking commissions and creating custom artwork for colouring books, blog posts, websites, blogs, zines, online courses, posters, and more! She infuses her signature whimsical artwork style into her projects, while maintaining a high degree of versatility to meet her clients’ needs.

She prefers to work with pen and paper or acrylics, through she periodically enjoys other mediums, such as watercolours and gouache.
